The sharp Barnet for Your Beetle

We are devoted to period style tuning for speed of the little 25hp and 36hp Volkswagen engines. With this website we would like to convince fellow VW Beetle, Karmann Ghia or Van drivers, that “Souping” the little, original engines really is a lot of fun.

We here offer period style components and accessories to conjure a little more push into Your 25hp or 36hp engine. Our small bunch is driving, maintaining and tuning for speed early split and oval VWs since more than 40 years now. In the old days the famous Ing. Bernd Riechert had his shop at the village of Velbert Nierenhof near to my home and every time we persuaded a grandpa to let his Oval go, the first modification was a dual carb kit from Riechert. Even today we are addicted to these little cars having a lot of fun souping their engines. Most important to us is that every modification is period correct, the tuning for speed methods had to be possible during the 1950s. We try to test every offered part personally, either on our historic Schenck Dyno or / and on the road in our 1953 Test Beetle. As a result we can say that parts we on this website, original, reproduced or newly engineered, will function as intended.

We also appreciate building Your “Dream Engine” in our workshop, either on Your “matching number” case, on an Industrial Engine basis or from scratch using parts of our stock. At last this remark, obviously our website isn´t all ready yet, but we are working on it and will make updates with either new parts or maybe discontinues if necessary.
